Ancient Roman religion was a culmination of traditional practices and beliefs centered on many layers of deity worship. Each deity had a specific role and set of unique attributes that, when appealed to, were thought to respond in turn with generous gifts of Their divine nature. To the ancient Romans, every action, promise, and hope was attached to this belief with an undying devotion to daily communion. These religious practices inspired individual and national pietas (piety) for thousands of years, and formed the foundation of the Religio Romana.
Deity worship has
and continues to be the basis of modern practice in the Temple
of Religio Romana. Each spirit has a unique value and principle
that shapes the natural order of our realm and resonates within
us. This relationship between human beings and the divine is an
ecumenical balance between thought process and deed, action and
reaction. Through a deeper understanding and dedicated reverence
of the complex forces in our universe, we can attract many
desirable components into our lives and secure a purposeful and
prosperous existence for ourselves, our loved ones and our
community.
